A lot of people wonder how I have so much energy all the time. I’m not really sure why, possibly because I’m so focused on what I love to do? Singing is my passion and as I work on it – it’s almost not even work – it’s what gets me up in the morning, it’s what keeps me going, it’s what makes me happy. I have a lot of other things that make me happy too outside of music. It’s important to have a balance.
A few years ago I struggled with energy – actually for many years I was tired and drained most of the time. I didn’t feel well. I never complained about it much, but people who were close to me knew about my pain. I’ll have to tell you that boring story another day. The point is – I feel great now and I want to share with you one of the things I know is working for me. Besides finding your passion and focusing your attention on something that you enjoy doing – my food choices are definitely a big reason I feel good.
It’s challenging sometimes to make healthy food choices while I’m out on the road traveling. I’m sometimes limited to what people I’m staying with offer me – I am thankful to eat whatever is prepared – I’m not a picky eater and I love trying new foods. It’s great to pick healthy food when I have the choice – because this frees me up in the times when it’s not up to me. The reason I choose to eat healthy is because I want to feel good. My food choices have become a necessity.
One of my favorite things to eat while I’m traveling is fruit or raw nuts. They are small and easy to carry it with me, and I can find them anywhere. Gas stations usually always have fresh bananas or apples right near their registers. I can find them at the airport too, if I look hard enough. I prefer to purchase fruit instead of a candy bar because I know how much better I’ll feel after eating it, and it will have great consequences.
