“In The Bleak Midwinter” by Vanessa Joy is an English carol written by the poet Christina Rossetti. It was set to music in 1906 and we have sung it throughout the world ever since. It is an endearing Christmas lullaby. “In the Bleak Midwinter” is on the album “Joy To the World” and can be found here or you can listen to it here in Vanessa Joy’s store or here or here youtube. This is such a delicate beautiful song of what happened that first Christmas night. What can I give Him? Poor as I am? I can give Him my heart. Have you done this? Have you given your life over to Jesus? Is He the reason you get up in the morning? What do you do to serve Him daily? I love the message within this beautiful hymn. It is so touching and singing it brings me great pleasure. It is hard to keep from crying as I sing the words, “give Him my heart”. I pray as we all go through this life, we find ways to give deeply this Christmas and always. Give from your heart as you serve others.
