Do you have goals? Do you know how to reach your goals? Do you have something in your life that you would like to accomplish, but life happens and you don’t seem to have the time it takes to get it done? Book your priorities into your calendar and see what happens.
I’m writing a book. Isn’t everyone these days? I thought I’d join the club and write one of my very own too. I’ve been writing a book for about 3 months now. I’ve been persistent but it’s a small priority, it fits into my life only once per week and I like it that way. Something I learned a long time ago is to schedule your goals into your life. That’s right! If you don’t book your own time, everyone and everything else will book it for you.
Do a brain dump at the beginning of the week. Set your timer and write down all the things you want to accomplish or need to do that week. Get it all down on paper. This is random and has no organization. Once you are done with the brain dump you can start plugging in the items into your calendar. Slowly you will begin to see progress. Persistence is key in accomplishing your goals. Keep at it and you will see results.
This is really simple and it only takes a little preparation time on your end. Look at your calendar. After writing out your goals and list of to-do’s or a brain dump, start plugging in those items onto your calendar. If you want to write a book, schedule in the time to do it. If you want to grow a garden, you’ve got to set aside the time to plant the seeds when the time is right. Other things crowd into your life if you do not schedule things in advance. If you want to make more friends, schedule a lunch date. If you want to grow in your family relationships schedule the time in your planner. Your goals begin to take shape as you see what you’re creating in your life. This doesn’t mean there are no emergencies, but at least you aren’t running around trying to do things last minute. Setting aside a little time each day will help you to reach your goals.
